Inspectors & Auditors
Building inspectors and auditors are responsible for examining residential and commercial properties in order to identify observed defects within specific components of a building, property or dwelling. Building inspections and audits may include examination and research of any combination of the following components: structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and other essential systems or structures associated with the building or property. Nearly all green building codes and standards pertain to new construction, not existing ones, but there is a benefit to identifying environmentally friendly features in existing structures as well. Green building features and technologies increase the efficiency of a building’s energy and water usage, help protect the health of its occupants, and reduce the structure’s impact on the environment.
